The Swansea – Siavonga Partnership , launched in July 2010 has a community development plan linking groups in Swansea with two rural villages in Siavonga, Zambia (Kabilla and Masompe- known jointly as MAKA). It further includes Namumu Orphanage, Kabiobio women’s Cooperative and several local schools. The Partnership primarily involves practical exchange of skills, knowledge and culture.

Five key areas are identified:
Social Harmony- building relationships across different cultures
Livelihoods – Maximising income through sharing experiences and learning
Education – supporting the education of  children
Environment – Making the best use of the environment
Health- Improving health through nutrition
